Job Description
• Layout of manufacturing equipment systems using 2D and 3D software packages to produce drawings from concept through construction issue.
• Design conceptual support structures to work with the equipment layout.
• Evaluate vendor equipment for design applications and assist with equipment specifications.
• Examine and validate drawings for quality and compliance.
• Examine, validate and coordinate other discipline designs for compliance with layouts.
• Participate in design reviews with internal and external clients.
• Participate in dynamic discussions with client while doing “live” CAD changes.
• Work with laser scanning vendors to get “as-built” information and work into design.
• Visit Client plant sites to evaluate design options and take necessary measurements.
- 10 year minimum experience with layout/design involving:
- Manufacturing and/or material handling systems, used in industries such as:
- Consumer Products
- Food
- Beverage
- Chemicals
- Manufacturing and/or material handling systems, used in industries such as:
- 3D AutoCAD experience is a required. Other 3D software experience is a plus. Revit also a plus.
- Experience with design, layout, and installation of equipment systems is required.
- MS Office suite skills required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of an organization/manufacturing facility/construction staff.
- Exposure to Navisworks and creation of Virtual Reality from 3D designs is a plus.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
- Must be able to physical move about in an Industrial Plant and be able to climb ladders, stairs, and access tight places.
- Occasional travel to project site is required.
